The Term = "Throw the ball"

Have you heard of the term "ball in your court" or "throw the ball"? This is the term u will heard not only if you are working in a big organization, also in everyday life.

Vocabulary:
"ball" - responsibilities/job/issue/taik/customer claim

Now, they have a new name for it, TAICHI. Just like the soft & lemah gemalai movement of TAICHI, that's the same way u can throw the problem aside or to other people. Just imagine the hand movement. Wohaaaaaa!

Like what my previous boss often told me "don't let the ball in fell in your court". Or sometimes, "that department throw the ball to other people...don't let them throw it at you". Now we are talking a lot of "balls" here. In simple Bahasa Melayu, the term will be define as, "masalah yang diberi kepada orang lain untuk di selesaikan". Or in more kurang ajar words, "bagi taik kat orang lain". Ceh! Sendiri punye taik, sendiri cuci la. Tapi kalau dah dapat taik tuh, muka korang pun jadi taik gak la. OK, enough with the taik.

For example, if we encounter customer claims or production reject, the normal method will be :

RCA (Ishikawa, 4M, etc) ----> Evaluate -----> Monitor ----> Conclude

But for some people:

RCA ----> give to other department/people ("throw the ball") ----> clean their hands

This is what I normally see in work. The key word here is MENTALITY & sense of responsibility. Sometimes people can amazed u whenever they are in crisis or the way they handle pressure. Some people will not stop sending emails (all work related, none with norman hakim, memey updates whatsoever), while others (this is what I called paranoid android) will not stop calling u (every 5 minutes want update). Itu belum masuk kire yang nangis tepi kantin, pengsan kat dalam production & so on so on. Instead of cooperating & giving thoughtful suggestion, everybody will battle & fought to dead to avoid the countermeasure work. Shit! Then ingat kompeni bayar gaji kau untuk korang gossip2 @ tengok email ke?(peringatan untuk budak2 QA).

Sometimes I wonder & think if I were in their shoes, with their narrow mind of course, why the hell I want to go through all the trouble to elak-elak (avoid) the job? (they can go as far as giving stupid excuses). Are you really that busy everyday? Hahaha. Oh, I know, they don't want to go back late, nanti laki marah. Takpun bini bising balik lambat. Kene jaga anak. and so on........Talk about commitment! Family come first la, job can find another! We have jobstreet, remember! Buat penat si Lina (jobstreet) send us the daily updates. Kahkahkahkhakhak! Aiyooo, this kind of people forget that that we have a set of team to work with. Each member with their own task. TEAM, ingat TEAM, bukan in-TEAM.

Normally this kind of thinking or action will be stop when the chairman, (a wise man with high technical skill & knowledge, provided with his charming smile although sometimes hot headed sebab selalu marah2 budak QA, not to mention his ability to communicate with all level of management...ahahah)....will conclude & assigned every single of PIC to each task. If not, sampai pagi pun korang tak settle2 lagi.

This is the kind of mentality that I think should be avoid or else we end up being well known as Malaysian made 'cap ayam' brand. Poor quality control was among the worst issue that a manufacturer could face. Regardless what brand/company you are working with. Japan company, Continental, American, Brazil etc etc. As long as the product being produced here in Malaysia, it is considered Malaysian made. That's just my 5 cents worth or worthless comment. Sounds patritotic sket. Remember when we comment/condemn about Proton. It's the same way with other product. Malaysian made beb. Ada pahammm....hahahahahah...Look at the bigger picture bro. Few years back manufacturers rush to China because of cost competitiveness, but they also overlook the cost of QUALITY. Don't let our fate succumb like that.

Samosa berharga RM730.80 (4 pcs)

- Reuters
