What If, What If, What If?

That's not the song by Creed I am referring to. That's how innovators think. What if? What if? What if?

Today I stumble upon one fucking cool invention from Dyson. A blade-less fan. Imagine cars without wheels. Even though it is not as radical.

The fan is a little bit pricey mostly because of the initial cost of design and development but I believe in time the Dyson R&D team will manage to cut down the price with VA. I also hope that they will manage to eliminate the noisy jet sound (Dyson is known as vacuum cleaner manufacturer, what do you expect? Hahaha).

I just can only imagine the initial stage of the invention.

"What if we design fan without blade." The question WHAT IF?
Then came the DR, and next the DFM and all of those DOEs done. The product development mantra. Memang aku ni skema.

Orang-orang cool dan tak skema sila rujuk:
DR - design review
DFM - design for manufacturing
DOE - design of experiments

I am not sure if the fan was developed in Malaysia, maybe I can find out more. I have friends working in Dyson that are so fucking paranoid and secretive. Takut kena warning letter ke share cerita kat aku? Hahaha.

Before I end this, ask what if? what if? what if? whenever you need to generate ideas (also note to self). Einstein once said, "If the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it." So ignore those who belittle your idea or as what I normally hear from a typical Malaysian, "Buat apa susah-susah nak fikir, dapat gaji sudah. Balik tido. Cukup masa retire." What the fish?
